Jiahui Miao is the founder of vertciti. He has contributed to 3GPP CT3 6G core-network standards work, and previously served as Investment Manager at HNA GROUP and Chief Consultant at Innovest Global. A New York University graduate born in Urumqi, he now lives in New York. Career
The through-line of Jiahui Miao's career is standards work — first in finance, then in telecommunications and AI; since 2026, he has put that discipline to work on a company of one.
1 · Investment and real estate years
From 2019 to 2022, his working life was real-estate deals. As Chief Consultant at Hongkun USA Real Estate Development (September 2019 – May 2022), he led the major projects of those years:
- The Cambridge Crossing commercial project in Boston
- The negotiations and legal oversight for the sale of 225 West 57th Street — Central Park Tower — to SMI Group
- Fundraising for the Port Imperial EB-5 project in Weehawken and for the project at 339 River Road
- Financing for the residential project at 232 Old River Road in Edgewater
In August 2020 he founded Onethird Group Inc, and through 2021 ran fifteen rehab-and-flip investment property projects under it; he remained the group's founder until May 2022.
In May 2022 he became Chief Consultant at Innovest Global, Inc. (OTC: IVST), heading the real estate mergers and acquisitions department — managing all of the department's projects, building its teams of business development specialists and market analysts, negotiating projects, and initiating fundraisings for the division.
Alongside the deals runs his other through-line: financial messaging standards.
2 · Financial messaging standards
Jiahui Miao is a member of the CBPR+ (cross-border payments), SMPG (Securities Market Practice Group) and FRBNY Return Chain working groups.
His work centers on ISO 20022, encompassing the drafting and review of SWIFT and ISO 20022 change requests (CRs) across six message families — securities settlement, securities trade, payments clearing, cash management, corporate actions and account management. He is deeply engaged in the work of the DESSUG and CGI (Common Global Implementation) global implementation communities, and is a registered subscriber to foundational standards including ISO 4217.
3 · 3GPP and AI standards
Today his standards work sits in telecommunications: Jiahui Miao participates in 3GPP CT3 work on the 6G core network — the same discipline of specifications and change requests, in a new field. Through vertciti, that agenda extends to artificial intelligence: trustworthy AI agents and open standards are the company's stated subjects.
4 · International organizations and open standards
His standards work is also registered in the expert and advisory systems of international organizations: he is an Individual Consultant, Asian Development Bank Consultant Management System; a Registered expert, European Commission Funding & Tenders expert database; and holds a Consultant roster profile, UN Secretariat (Inspira).
On the open-standards side, he is a Member, AI for Good Neural Network (ITU) and a Participant, ITU Focus Group on Trust and Identity for Humans and Agentic AI (FG-TIDA, under SG17); a Member, Internet Society (ISOC); and a Contributor, IETF WIMSE & OAuth working group discussions — where a settlement-semantics proposal of his was publicly adopted by a draft author in the OAuth working group.
5 · vertciti: a one-person fleet
In 2026 he runs vertciti as a one-person fleet — a company staffed entirely by AI, directed by its only human: its founder, himself. He is Lead, voluntary commitment "Open standards participation for trustworthy AI-agent procurement", SDG Partnerships Platform (vertciti). The operating entity, VERTCITY LLC, is organized in New Jersey and registered in New York as a foreign limited liability company on October 3, 2022; its New York status is ACTIVE (New York Department of State public record). The company stands as Registered vendor, UN Global Marketplace — VERTCITY LLC.
